Polish Catholic Mission England and Wales
Polish Catholic Mission
in England and Wales
We have been gathering Poles since 1894
A warm welcome
The history of the Polish Catholic Mission dates back to the late 19th century. The mission served Polish emigrants, providing them with an opportunity to participate in liturgical life, connect with their compatriots, and promote Polish culture.
Today, the Polish Catholic Mission in England and Wales comprises 71 parishes with 198 places where Mass is celebrated.
Mass is celebrated in Polish. 90 priests serve in our Mission.

VIRTUAL EXHIBITION ON THE OCCASION OF THE 130TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE POLISH CATHOLIC MISSION
IN ENGLAND AND WALES
The history of the Polish Catholic Mission in England and Wales is a tale of faith, tradition, and the ongoing commitment to Polish identity among successive generations of emigrants. Our virtual exhibition takes you on a journey through the decades – from the Mission's earliest steps, through the difficult wartime era, to the present day, where it continues to fulfill its spiritual and social role.
In the photographs and documents presented, you will find traces of unwavering faith, a commitment to language and culture, and testimonies of the commitment of priests, nuns, and lay people to building community. Every image, every story, is proof that the Mission is not merely an institution, but a living organism that has been uniting Poles abroad for 130 years.
I invite you to discover this extraordinary history, reflect on its meaning, and admire the archival photographs that capture the emotions, dreams, and everyday lives of Polish emigrants. May this exhibition become a bridge between the past and the present, an inspiration to continue cultivating faith and culture—regardless of the distance separating us from our homeland.
